Biography - Coach Samantha Belvini

I was born and raised in San Mateo.  I attended St. Matthew’s K-8 and went on to Notre Dame High School.  After attending CSM for two years, I transferred to UC San Diego.  I am currently a Biology teacher here at San Mateo High School.

My experience in Track and Field dates back to middle school where I ran the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, did long jump and ran the 800m.  I also participated in my first multi-event in middle school in 8th grade (a pentathlon, 5 events) and had a blast! In high school, I continued with long and triple jump as well as participating in many different events.  I went to CSM for 2 years where I trained to compete in the heptathlon.  I continued training as a heptathlete at UC San Diego where I received my B.S. degree in Biology.  I have extensive experience as a student-athlete, and have experience with many different events.  I look forward to sharing my knowledge and background with our athletes here at SMHS.

As a teacher here at San Mateo High school, I really enjoy the spirit and the community within the school and I am excited to teach the students something else that I am passionate about.
