Dear Parents & Athletes,

Welcome to the 2015 Track and Field season!

Athletes and parents now can be check-in for updates and not wondering about missed communications .

Some items of interests, or concerns that often come up are:

- Early Dismissal from classes for competition:  PAL scheduled dual meets are scheduled on Thursdays at 3 p.m.  Students are released from their classes at about 1 1/2 to 2 hours prior so they can change, travel, and warm up before the competition.  Warm ups are important as the objective is to prevent injury.  If this is a major concern, feel free to discuss this with me.

·   Cell phone text message notification: Highly recommended.  At your request, parents and athletes can now receive a text message regarding important notices or last minute change of plan, for example, "No practice today due to rain", or "Meet location changed to XXX High School today".  Look under the pull down menu under Track & Field.

·   Bearcats Invitational/Fundraiser:  San Mateo High School will be hosting this Invitational annually.  It is also our ONLY fundraiser. 2015 will be our 6th year.  It takes a great deal of planning, and our BCI Planning Committee welcomes volunteers of all degrees.  Whether you are  interested in just helping out a few hours during the event day, or get involved in our months long of planning, please let us know.  Both parents and athletes are strongly encouraged to contribute by volunteering and/or sell advertising for the event program (see details under "Fundraiser" from the Track and Field pull down menu).  This year's Bearcats Invitational will be held on April 18, 2015.

-  Overnight Meet:  To be determined

-  Volunteers:  Please go to the Track & Field header, select Volunteer and submit your name and time you're able to help us.  Enter your job preferences, restrictions, or general comments if you have any.  Many hands make light work, and all profits will benefit Track and Field only.

·   Photo Gallery: If you had taken pictures during practice or meets, and would like to share them, please forward to the webmaster (see Contact Us). We will post as many as we can.

                                                                                                                                        Warm Regards,
                                                                                                                                        Ed Riley, Head Coach
